“This is probably the worst day and age to be a nun. People’s attitudes have changed a lot in Ireland since the horrible news about all the abuse. Being ignored is one thing, but about two weeks ago a lady spat at me on the street and she said something… I couldn’t hear her but I’m sure it wasn’t pleasant. I never thought I would have to deal with this sort of treatment at my age. I don’t think people like us anymore and it makes me very sad…”
